Rain!!! It has been the wettest June on record for most of our state! The humidity it has brought has meant things just haven't had a chance to dry out at all.

This Month:

One market weekend this month in the beautiful Barossa Valley. Our early morning start for the day began with Hot Air Balloons launching right next to the caravan park.
The day continued to be chilly but everyone had fun.

The next weekend it was  time to celebrate the Grandtwins Third Birthday "Yo Gabba Gabba" style... PoppyDoc's Castle and Fairy House were great fun complete with Fairies and Knights. The Dragons were for Microman. Nannie Scarecrow made some Yo Gabba Gabba finger puppets in keeping with the theme.

More cold and more rain...

Way too cold for me to be doing any seed planting now instead I have been digging up a variety of volunteer seedlings, replanting them around the garden and potting them up for later planting...much easier than expecting any seeds to germinate in this weather!
Smyrnium olusatrum
Alyssum Lobularia maritimae
Bronze Fennel Foeniculum vulgare nigra
Canary Island Lavender Lavandula canariensis
Celery Apium graveolens var. dulce
Coriander Coriandrum sativum
Larkspur Delphinium consolide syn. Consolida ajacis
Motherwort Leonurus cardiaca
NZ Spinach/Warrigal Greens
Tetragonia tetragonoides
Wallflowers Erysimum cheiri

I have been collecting Kitchen scraps and weeds for compost and pilling them up in one of the tank beds that has been moved from the MVG. In Spring this tank will grow some Trombone Gramma in the Old Chook Run Garden. I am now starting another of these compost beds in the Almond Area with one of the bigger bed surrounds ready for some pumpkins.
