Propagation Update

Thin Bamboo stakes have been added to the Tomatoes in Bed 3
to train them up to the wire on the overhead arch.

Weather:
The weather has been hot and windy one day, cold and drizzly the next typically spring!!
The drizzle has brought hundreds of Snails and Slugs out of hiding just in time to devour some of my new baby seedlings. Argh!!!!

Into the Almond Area Wicking Bed went:
Beetroot - Chioggia seedlings from seeds sown 15/08/11
Celery American Stringless purchased seedlings
Cucumber - Suyo Long x 4 seedlings from seeds sown 4/08/11
Leeks Bulgarian Giant seedlings from seeds sown 2/07/11
Tomato - Stor Gul, Moneymaker x 4 each seedlings from seeds sown 10/07/11

Into the Old Chook House Wicking Bed went:
Cucumber Bushy x 3 seedlings from seeds sown 4/08/11
Squash Yellow Button x 4 seedlings from seeds sown 28/08/11

Planting into that pumpkin mound resulted in bug attack big time!!!
These seedlings are now covered each night
with a plastic bottle (with the base removed).
These must be removed each morning
or the seedlings will overheat in the sun!

Whereas those in the Wicking Bed have hardly been touched
and are 3 times the size!

To Do List:
Continue clearing beds and planting seeds/seedlings. Still a few to go!
Rebuild Wicking Bed 4 and build one more Wicking Tank Bed...
Clear Driveway and put up car shade cover back up for summer!
