In the Garden This week:
I went through my seed box and decided to empty some of the seed packets and sow some of the old seed I've had for a few years. They might grow, they might not. Any excess can be sold at the local market.

The Potatoes in the Old Chook Run Bed had all emerged
so it was time to mulch them with lucerne.

I cleared and topped up the Wicking Bed in the Kitchen Garden by the old chook house. See here for how I feed the soil in the Wicking Beds.
Planted here were seedling:
Capsicum California Wonder
Seven Year Beans

In the Main Veg Garden Bed 3 has been planted with:
Cucumber White Wonder to climb on a trellis at the end of the bed.
Squash Winter Delicata

Bed 6 seedlings have settled in well!

At The Community Garden:
On Friday the temperature was predicted to be near 30C so Doc and I got an early start up at the Community Garden.

We had work to do, that wind break bed was full of weeds!

By the time the others arrived we had cleared the bed.
Then a helper got to work with a whipper-snipper
to clear the edges.

Earlier in the week the "Concrete Fairies"
had prepared the slabs for the shed and the shade house.

On Friday with extra hands on deck
we helped put up the shade house.

Ta Da!!! mrgreenmrgreenmrgreen

With some leftover concrete mix
they prepared this site...
and left just a hint to Doc
regarding his promised Cob Oven!!!

Old Blackie, at 14 years of age, produced an egg this week. It was to be her last egg as I found her dead next to it. She had a wonderful life and even this week was out with me in the garden helping to scratch up a few earwigs! sad
