Temperatures this week:
Lowest Min -0.5C
Lowest Max 11.6C
Highest Max 18.2C
7mm Rain

What's the weather been like in the garden?
Some more rain, just enough to save me watering the wicking beds. Almost warm weather one day, freezing cold, wet days the next.

Propagation:
Cuttings/Division:

Bay Laurus nobilis
Canary Island Lavender Lavandula canariensis
Fragrant/Mealy Saltbush Rhagodia parabolica
Put into the heated propagation tray inside.

In the Garden This week:
As we move into the coldest time of the year in Scarecrow's Garden things are still growing slowly.

Broad Beans have germinated in the Kitchen Garden

On the other side of the pathway
the Red Shallots are growing well.

The Onions in the Dog Pen Wicking Bed
are coming on strongly.

I'm glad I covered the Roi de Carouby Snow Peas
against the frosts...
...this has meant they are growing well.

Small heads are forming on the Nutri-Bud Broccoli in Bed 4.

The Radishes in the wicking box under the back pergola
look green and lush!

At The Community Garden:

On a cold, wet and windy day much progress was made!
A significant section of the fencing has been completed.
All the mulch has been spread around the windbreak planting.
Most importantly we found a way to keep the gas stove out of the wind by utilising one of the cut down tank surrounds! It worked a treat and hot coffee was much appreciated in the wet and cold conditions of the day!
It's great to see more and more folks joining in our working bees as the garden begins to take shape.
