My Spot

This is my favourite spot in the garden...I sit on that log and count all the sunflowers and straw flowers, the cosmos and calendulas, the nigella and alyssum that are popping up all the time.

I watch the yarrow and tansy, the rosemary and lavender, the correas and arctotis, the erigeron and oregano, the golden marjoram, borage and wallflowers that I've planted as they settle in and start to flower.

Even the clovers and dandelions flower and attract the beneficial insects that take care of my garden.

In the evenings and first thing in the morning this area is alive with busy garden friends...damsel flies and honey bees, the native bees and ladybirds, the dragonflies and hoverflies...and scurrying through the undergrowth are skinks and geckos.

So lovely. Everyone needs a place that speaks peace to them.

Hi scarecrow, great idea recycling the log to make a seat. I have finally had time to sit down and figure out the links. Thanks for the help and advice ,appreciate it.

Thanks for sharing your special spot. I love early mornings and evenings in a special spot in the garden too, the sense of peace and well being seems much sweeter at those times. Time to enjoy the fruits of the work put into building our haven.

Hi Kelly, Tracy and Spring
I think everyone should set aside a spot in their garden that they can relax and enjoy otherwise gardening (especially for food) can become a chore. Just enjoy your garden!

Hi Peggy
I'm glad you worked out those links...have fun with them!

Hi Matron
Some folks in Oz do celebrate Halloween...it's a new fad over here...like you say there aren't any pumpkins! The pumpkins we have around at the moment are well past their prime. I opened one from my 'store' recently and the seeds were sprouting...inside the pumpkin...so I planted them.
They are now growing!
